The volunteers for the European Universities Handball Championship are getting ready for the big event!

The students that will be volunteering at the European Universities Handball Championship to be held in Antequera attended yesterday their second training meeting at the University of Malaga Sports Complex. In order to allow for a greater number of volunteers to be present, the organization prepared two sessions, one in the morning and another one in the afternoon, and in total 16 volunteers were able to attend one of these sessions. Most of the volunteers are doing a degree in Translation & Interpreting, English Studies, Journalism or Marketing & PR, but there are also students of Law, Medicine, Business Management, Psychology or Primary Education Teaching, among others.

Regarding the meeting, both sessions started with a short presentation about the Championship for those volunteers that missed the previous meeting, and then the main Championship areas that will require volunteers were explained—Communications & Social Networks, Participants Assistance, Translation & Production of Documents, Competition Support and Streaming. Then, the organizers led an informal discussion where volunteers introduced themselves in English, the official language of the Championship, and shared what they expected to get from this exciting experience. The sessions further continued with several group dynamics that served as ice breakers and helped volunteers and organizers to get to know each other better.

Finally, the sessions ended with a round of questions and answers, and organizers highlighted again the crucial role that volunteers play in order to ensure the smooth running of the Championship.
